The subject has gone cold at the moment. The 1100 Club were leading on this, but there seems to have been some personel changes over the past months and lines of communication appear to be on hold. Dave1800 has been working on this and I feel sure that he'll update us with any new developments as and when they occur.
The Spring edition of Practical Classics features the 1100 in the Smart Buys article and notes that "There is work being done on replacing displacer internals."
I think you now know as much as I do.

I will let everyone here know as soon as there is more information available. Progress is being made and I hope to be able to post something around July.
