Hi All, As a few of you will know i bought my first Wolseley a couple of weeks ago and having never had a Wolseley/Crab of any type before have always been a Rover man it's all new ground to me. My Crab is interior is in very good condition except for the seats as the foam is dissolving which i have read they all do!! so i am looking for a set of blue Vinyl/Leatherette ones?? After getting my Crab i noticed straight away it had an electrical problem but with help and advice from members on here i have now discovered it turns out to be a dud alternator. So now to the main resto bits as seen in the pics it's the osf corner which is my main problem/concern as i have never worked on one of these ie are there any repair panels available for this section? The rest of the bodywork ie the n/s rear end and bonnet of the car are excellent so to sum up it needs a new osf corner section a front valance work to the bottom of both osf doors wing o/s and some welding to the os sill any help or advice on any of this very very much appreciated

Hi Tony, Thank you for the info i actually understand that but what i don't understand is how i have a +12v feed through the white wire when i earth the b/y wire but nothing when its not earthed? Does this as many people have said mean a break in a wire or a wire come off the alt? i am going to attempt to get to the alt wires today but i looks hidden away

Also what workshop manual would you recommend for my 1974 Wolseley 2200 Automatic? as previous and help or advice very much appreciated

Brown and yellow wire from alternator is the direct feed to the warning light. The light earths to the casing of the clock and on to the body. The earths are black and mostly attach to the instrument securing posts. There are several wires running off from them to the body of the car. The selector safety switch is fed by the white and red wire from the ignition switch and then on to the starter solenoid. SU fuel pump may respond to a light tap if it is getting power. Chris. Hi Chris, Thanks for that but without sounding ungrateful how does the ign bulb earth to the casing of the clock when the holder the bulb pushes into is plastic and there is no part of the casing that touches the bulb holder and the brown/yellow is attached the the holder body? the only wires going to it are are a white wire and a brown/yellow??

Hi All, Having just bought my first Wolseley six ever and have no experience of them but i am learning fast i have been trying to get my new purchase up and running but there is no ign light on dash it does turn on the key but want these probs sorted first?? I have removed dash panel and if i independently earth the yellow and brown wire from the ign bulb holder it illuminatess i presume this is the earth but should it not be black? Could anyone please tell me where all the earths are located as i think this is my problem as the clock works now and then and there is no power to the gear quadrant panel. Oh and the fuel pump does not run but i am yet to have a look at that sorry for all the questions but i have not got a workshop manual yet so any advice very much appreciated
