One big thing is DO NOT use supermarket fuel, I work on petrol stations and after talking with tanker drivers the supermarket stuff as none or very little additives that help with octain and cleaning !!! thats why its cheaper, modern cars can tolerate it but our classics are another story ! I would personally go for an unleaded head but saying that if you dont do many miles per year and only " Pootle " about, then you would get away with a decent additive, my own preference being Castrol valvemaster plus, ta.

I remember years ago in the dark old days of the 70s that an uprated ball bearing type instead of the carbon material was avaliable, I fitted one to my ex RAF mk2 at that time when I did a clutch change but speaking to a few loci members fairly recently no one had heard of such a bearing, I certainly fitted one and it was a definate improvement, no slight slowing of the tick-over for a start and much quieter, Iv"e seen the mgb ones and they look very much the same !

Hi Chris Welcome aboard! I've been watching your car for quite some time from afar on Youtube and the for sale section of the LOCI magazine as I'm now based in Thailand but lived in Yorkshire before I left for warmer climes. Sorry to hear you had lots of body problems to sort out but glad to hear it's well on its way. If you have any photos of the restoration they would be much appreciated. We'll have to call you Chris L or something similar as everyone here now seems to be called Chris regards David Thanks David, We have quite a few vids on you tube of the cars and show days, look for mowog green and tripplescrew , most titles are morris 1800 but not all ! Well worth a viewing as we have a lot of banter and laughs, Catch yer soon, and as we Yorkshire fowk say.. ALSITHI... Chris L

Hi Chris I was keen on KTE as well - but too slow off the mark and to be honest have my hands full with my 1800S! Cheers Andrew Hi Andrew, I couldnt let the old girl go the way of far too many British classics, And I can confirm the amount of body repairs are not at all bad, well compared to the police car anyway She will make a nice interesting project, I have a few ideas ! ? ! I"ve just this week started on rebuilding the " S " engine from the police car, She"s fitted with one of Ray House"s recon units at the moment ! My local engineering shop quoted a mere £500 for rebore, crank grind , supply of quality pistons and bearings AND rebuilding it back to a short motor, Why get yer hands mucky at those prices ? I have to make room for Katey, so the Teal blue auto ( Front cover of this months LOCI mag ) is soon to go to another LOCI member as his second car during the rebuild of his Wolseley six.. I will be posting pics on here soon has I shrink the files on my pc , with the help of my young family members, I can wield the spanners but pcs can be a bit daunting at times
Catch you soon,
chris.

Good turn out by the look of it. A few familiar cars and faces - there's a shock of white hair in the pics that I'd recognise anywhere! Great pics, Nick. Chris. Yes a good day had by all I believe ! We Yorkshire lads enjoyed it no end
