He had better have that garage spotless when I get there. When I left on Sunday you could see the tops of the work benches and the floor.

Nicked from another forum but it’s something we should all be checking. We just can’t leave old fuel hoses on. They must be changed NOW. Mr P and I have experience of decayed fuel lines. And we were lucky one had gone incredibly brittle and another had literally split in several places. It is a cheap easy fix. Just time. If it’s got plenty of fuel in the tank and it’s showing fuel in the filter I would assume it’s getting fuel to the carburettor from the pump.
I would look in the float chamber and see if there is dirt in the bottom of there. It won’t take much to block the outlet and pipe to the needle. If there is a blockage in there this would reduce the symptoms you describe as the engine will simply be starved of fuel.

The sender in the original position is the one that sends the engine temp to the ecu. I assume the cold start is sorted by electrical trickery within the ecu. The sender to the ecu is supplied by the kit manufacturer and is programmed to work by them.
The sender in the extension housing above the stat is the one to the dashboard
It has been done this way around as i wanted the more accurate data going to the ecu.

I’m not quite happy with the fit of those gaskets. They are a bit on the chunky side and over hang the casings a bit to much. I’m going to try to trim them down a bit so they won’t be seen as much.

Tony Wood at LOCI sells uprated engine mounts
Regarding the fan. I am running both the standard one and a small thermostatic fan that sucks from the opposite side when the engine is overheating

Not done much to proceed the repairs as I’ve been looking after the terrors today. AKA the twins. In a short break I had when the were behaving (fast asleep) I did get a coat of primer on. Prime by mark atkinson, on Flickr
