Here is a copy of my post on the Google Groups website. While it is primarily aimed at Australian readers about trying to locate any surviving tooling for hydrolastic units, it is theoretically possible it could have ended up anywhere in the world.
A group in the UK is currently exploring the feasibility of hydrolastic units being remanufactured / fully refurbished covering the Mini, 1100/1300, Landcrabs and 3 Litre models. My understanding is that the tooling in the UK was all destroyed but the engineering drawings are still held by the Moulton Trust.
I have been informed that Dunlop Australia manufactured units as part of the local content requirements.
If anyone has any knowledge about this please will you keep me informed. It is just possible that the tooling could be lurking at the back of an old garage, warehouse or disused factory that would greatly enhance the chances of this project succeeding which would ensure we can enjoy our cars well into the future and help retain or increase their value.
