What tyres and pressures are we all running here?
I've got 2 Goodyears and 2 something-esle (cheapie ones I think, I didn't buy them)
And if I recall correctly, 30 psi on the front, 24 psi on the rear
I think that's a bit more than the owners book says for the front?

I tend to be 28/26psi on mine. Seems happy enough. Running 14" 165 Uniroyals on mine.

Uniroyals are a good choice - they've been made about 500m from my house I tend to run 2bar at the front and 1.8 at the rear. Alexander

I need to double check my current PSI, but should be 30 front 26 rear, but the front tyres look very 'flat' ? I know the engine isn't light but it still!
Thinking of going to 35/30. Good idea?

Er, no. It's not a modern car, so if it's got a slightly fat bottom ( ) to the tyre profile, don't be too worried. If you take the tyre pressure up too high, you will reduce the tyres contact area with the road, cause excessive wear to the centre of the tread and just generally reduce the traction available. It lightens the steering, but can cause lots of unexpected fun when things get really wet. If the tyres look really down for the pressure, I'd check the date on the sidewall - the banding may be breaking down on a really old tyre, making it difficult for it to hold its shape. Consider - eight years old is old for a tyre......... low mileage or not. Chris.

Hmmmm good call Chris. I have no idea on the age of the tyres and perhaps they're at the end of their life. Will take them to someone who knows tyres.
Edit: One of the front tyres was made in 2007 it seems and one of the rear looks like it was made in 2005
Cheers,
Andrew

I ran the tyres at 28 psi on my 1932 BSA Trike they should run 24 psi. Last MOT the mechanic pointed out the centre was worn down while the edges had plenty of tread left. Did some swearing and dropped the pressures.

Correct tyre pressures:
Mk 1 (175/70-13): Front 28, rear 22
Mk 2 (165/80-14): Front 30, rear 24
BTW, I have serious trouble finding 165/80-14 tyres up here. The only available ones have been crappy, rock hard Chinese ones. A wonder they are allowed sold in Norway, where everything is rather strict.. Anyway, even these are hard to find now.
I have used 175/70-14 which work fine, but I would rather have the original size.
Do anyone know if any of the good known brands, like Uniroyal, still make them? If so I could check out if suppliers of these brands here can get some separately. They are not officially supplied by anyone anymore, unfortunately.
Regards, Tommy

Falken, Hankook, Kleber, Nankang, Cheng Shin (!) seem to be available for our cars. I've got 7 Uniroyals, so I'm all right for a while.
Shan't mention the football.........
