Hi, I have just got my 1800 running after it sat in a garage for ten years. From the rear suspension, I think, comes a persistent squeak at the slightest bump. Both sides, but driver's side worse. Any ideas where I should look?
Thanks,

Hi Colin,
Squeaks from the suspension are normally down to dry knuckle joints and bearings. Earier cars have steel taper roller bearings, later cars have rubber slip flex bearings After ten years it's likely that any lubricant such as grease will have dried out. The radius arm bearings where the radius arm pivots the up and down movement of the wheel.
The knuckle joint is where the radius arm connects to the Hydroladtic displacer unit within a plastic cup.
If you can, you really need to remove the rear suspension and overhaul it. That will require depressurising and removing each suspension unit, checking the components for wear and dried out bearings etc
As a simple trial you could spray WD40 around the radius arm pivots and the knuckle joints. If it stops the squeaking you might be lucky for a while.
