hi all good to be back to this forum not been well but ok now as well as having my austin 1800 and a wolseley 6 by two i have an austin kimberley 1972 model auto will try too post a photo ok see you all later HOW does one add pictures to these posts. It is just not happening for me ?

I think the restyle is close to genius when you look closely. The rear window is exactly the same as the 1800 which must have reduced costs considerably. If there hadn't been such antipathy towards BMC and the creations of Issigonis after the Leyland takeover I'm sure this would have been adopted for the UK with a few styling tweaks for Europe. It could then have seen the basic concept through to the end of the 70s and perhaps have saved the cost of developing the BL Wedge.
