John Twist has published some useful guidance for storing MGs over winter. Much of it is relevant to most classic cars including the Lancrabs so in my opinion worth a read. Aimed primarily at US owners where rodents may be more of an issue than a UK suburban garage - I have never found a mouse in a cylinder for example. Australian and others from warmer climes can read for amusement. One interesting issue. Should you put the car on axle stands? I have read that it may be beneficial to keep the hydrolastic units under load and ensure you move the car to avoid tyre flat spots etc. Not sure if this is correct. Anyone have views / experience on this or any other aspects? storageDavid

All points in the article make sense but having read through the whole lot I much prefer to keep the car on the road and give it just a little use in fair weather to avoid many of the problems highlighted. I realise this isn't always possible in some parts or the US or northern Europe. Many new cars are delivered with over inflated tyres to avoid flat spots and i would have thought it preferable to keep the thing on the ground rather than on stands.
