I've just bought another project!
1970 Mini 1000. All welding done, quite well too it seems, with original MG Rover wings etc. Needs a respray. All parts there. Bronze yellow with navy interior. Comes with old genuine cobra seats and a BL sports steering wheel, as well as original seats and steering wheel.
Quite a lot of new parts, like petrol tank, complete clutch set, suspension and brake parts and so on. Also a complete spare engine and box.
Engine doesn't turn, but is all complete and untouched since it last ran. It has oil in it. I'll pour some diesel into the cylinders and see...
Made an appointment with the seller, so collecting it sometime in spring. I have no room for it during the winter. Can't wait to get started on it!!
Sorry, no pics. I'll do some next week, when I go there to part pay and collect the parts. I'm planning to keep it all original. Too many have been modified imo. The prize was 10000 NOK, less than GBP 1000. I'm ok with that, especially as it doesn't need welding. I've never thought of buying a Mini before, cause they're ridiculously expensive here. And OMG, it's been a while since I saw a Mini! How small they are:-)

Boo - that's not got hydrolastics.... Seriously, sounds like a good buy. Look forward to the pics. Impossible to buy a Mini in the UK now for under £1,000. Chris.

You'd be lucky to get a road going one down here for less than $2000 NZD.
You could buy a nice tidy XJ6 for the same money some people ask for minis!

Looks like a good haul of stuff. Has it been a racing car, looking at that boot lid?
Chris.

Just a couple of hours work there then. What are you going to do with the rest of your free time? regards David

I don't think that car was raced, but some of the parts come from the seller's father who used to race them here in the 70s. I guess that explains the boot lid, with BL racing stickers and ad for Sønnack batteries. Nice period thing.
What free time, David? :-)
Seriously, this is going to be a long project. I'm in no hurry! Just wanted to grab the chance as it was affordable and local. Also it's a good thing i has been welded.
