Spent a morning here and met Chris plus one or two others from LOCI. Quite a few cars there but somewhat fewer than the 800 that were mentioned in the run-up to this. Here are some pics.
I actually took these two on Friday when they were starting to set up for the weekend. Especially for Indy this. I've seen pictures of this car before but had no idea it had survived. It's the one-off prototype for a Vanden Plas Princess. I bit heavy handed at the front I think but a better effort than the Allegro version. The rear badging confirms the identity and then today it has a Wolseley for company. There was also an Austin version amongst the Leyland Princesses to be seen today.
Alexander's 1800S all the way from Germany. It was good to meet him too ('Three Litre' of this forum)
A good selection of Crabs today, quite few regulars in this line up.
Deliberate and cruel juxtapositioning by me but you can see why the game was up for the Three Litre back in the day when cars like the Jaguar XJ6 were not so very much more expensive (+20%)
What's so exciting about that then. When I first started at Rover Cars the early R8 200s were still on the fleet and the XKV plates were amongst the earliest. In fact when I went round to the front of the car the bonnet was up and I could see the VIN 200001 which makes this car number one - at least from the volume production run.
There was plenty from the 80's too. I liked these two MG Maestros. The nearest car is a 2.0 EFi and the other one is a Turbo.
I can usually walk past most Minis at shows as they aren't exactly rare are they? Is it me or isn't this pair of 1275GTs just achingly cool now.
Hope you enjoyed the selection. Chris had his camera on him so there may be more to come later.
