Popped along for a few hours. Good turnout and car ran well there and back but despite best efforts with exhaust it's still boomy between 60 and 90 mph which means either crawling along or losing licence - still, fuel economy good at 55 mph! Nice to meet up with Neil Kidby from the 3 litre club who was invaluable when I had one of those. This was in the early days of internet, before forums and reliable email made problem solving quicker he was always happy to help on the phone despite working all hours for the AA (breakdown, not Alcholics).

Looks like it was a good day out; strong showing from the Landcrabs too.

Quite a challenge to sort out. Do you have the standard Mk11 exhaust from the manifold back? What difference if any did changing the engine mountings make? regards David but despite best efforts with exhaust it's still boomy between 60 and 90 mph which means either crawling along or losing licence - still, fuel economy good at 55 mph!

In danger of crossing over threads here - engine mountings great now - much nicer...exhaust is one of those things one has to live with. Can't have a silent ride with a tubular manifold and a big bore system I reckon...you pays your money etc - if and when I get bored with its sporting pretensions I'll go back to std but until then it's either 55 or 95. Once I've got the crash helmet on you can barely hear a thing!
