Nice sunny day and a local show. Fantastic drive out early this morning, up through Leathley and Birstwithshaw. Once I turned off at Pool in Wharfedale, I didn't see another car until the roundabout at Ripley. Wonderful. It was a WOC event, so here are some familiar faces: This MkII 18/85 S was next door on the Ripon Old Cars club stand. Very tidy and the owner came over for a bit of a chat. Mentioned the forum, but I don't think he's into computers. The other Wolseleys: A rather vibrant 1500 - I thought the colour rather suited it. This looked a little down at heel, but is an everyday driver. Horace. I was disturbed to find several large bouquets of flowers in the back...... Another one from next door. Tidy with a gorgeous interior. I've got a selection of interesting pics from the rest of the show which I'll put up when I've got a little more time. Chris.

Four Landcrabs, four separate mirror treatments - yours is best Chris.
Not sure I'd cope with the set-ups on the Purple or the pale Blue one.

It's a field of vision thing - the closer the mirror, the wider the view, I think. Having them on the door tops is a rather '70's thing. The Austin has no external mirrors at all. I'm rather tempted by one of the types that clip on to the "A" pillar, rather than drilling holes. Anyway, I promised some more pictures, so here's a rather eclectic mix from around the show field. Ripon Old Cars stand. The 1100 is the same year as my first one. Tidy Chevette on alloys. Uprated Anglia. Very 70's. I bet it hasn't got an asthmatic 1 litre pre-cross flow under the bonnet. This started life as an A30 or 35 and it's really rather well done. Very different, anyway. Cambridge and a P5. Nice. Ordinary. The car park at Fine Fare c. 1972. The Maxi. Very tidy. An immaculate, bog-standard, un-molested Popular. Rapier. Another Rapier. I do like these things. Maybe one day...... Citroen GS. How rare is that? I had a GS estate in a particularly offensive yellow back in the 80's. I'd have another one tomorrow. Big Fords. Alpine. Unusual in black and with the hard top on. Had a nice "well used" patina. XK150. Keys were in the ignition. Riley Merlin. Never seen one before - beautiful, just beautiful. Thought I had a couple more of this one. Like. HC Viva. I used to drive one of these - without the alloys and spots, mind. Bob's HB estate - restored last year, IIRC. And a few more big Fords. My late Uncle Arthur always liked the bog ones, so this takes me back to summer family trips in the 60's. Chris.
