Just got back from the National Rally. A great day out and yes, we did manage to get 50 there. I think there were 53 in all including a couple of Austin 3 Litres. It will take a little while to get all the pictures through my Flickr account and uploaded, so for starters, here a few scene setters to give you a taste of the atmosphere. I'll get some individual vehicle shots up with my next post. Nick

OK, some more Early on in the day, already a lot of cars on site Mine in the middle HAE had driven down from Perth, Eugenie in the middle. The car on the right was in the UK sales thread recently and we believe is the only example in this pale lilac shade or Mirage (I think). It was bought from the trade recently but will have to come off the road at the end of the year to sort out some nasties in the sills and such like. Got the potential to be a really nice car and a great talking point Katie, as owned by Chris from the Barnsley Massiv, looking good and rescued from a possible grim end on the oval. As Chris said yesterday it's another one kept on the road. Chairman Clive's superb Mk1. I had a look through the window at the interior and this must have been exactly what a customer would have seen in an Austin showroom in 1965. Next to it is 531NOF one of the press launch cars, while the green car on the left has been with the same owner for 45 years. Pair of Morris 1800s Late Six in Bronze. This one was brought over from Brussels by Frank who I had a nice chat with when I arrived. Good effort. more to follow; promise Nick

see The ute belongs to Michael Sanchez and was the subject of a magazine article recently. PFB also features in the UK Sales thread. This is an original Black car, very unusual. I do like this colour. Pete1800's car looking very good in the sunshine. Prize for the greatest distance travelled - Portugal. White looks good on all cars at the moment. This well lived example ends today's selection. I'll put some more on tomorrow. Nick

The eagle-eyed amongst us will have noticed the presence of "Other Cars". There was a BMC Day going on at the same time. I didn't have time to snap everything, so here are a few that took my fancy, starting with: THE INDIANA JONES ULTIMATE FANTASY SELECTION.This one is a factory prototype. Six Princesses in one place. That'll be about ½ the UK survivors, then. Odd that the first blue one wasn't talking to the othe five...... A FEW MORE.Look at that! P76. Cor..... I had to photgraph the sole Maxi; resplendent in a new coat of paint it looked very tidy indeed. WOLSELEYS.There's another forum which I frequent, so I did have to photograph all the Wolseley present - you might as well share. 1300. Hornet. 16/60. 6/99. Pretty sure that this is the other type of 18/85. Another 1300 - love the Duo-tone paintwork. 1500. There you go - that's all I've got. Tripplescrew's done some video and I hop that the other forum members there present will add to this as well. Chris.

Yeah alright. All the good ones were over in the Masterclass section. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Final batch from me. I'll try not to duplicate Chris' pictures above. A few tasty rears for you These two turned up later on in the day. The car on the right has been spotted before. The other one had a note in the window along the lines of 'For Sale, Wolseley Six, very poor body and rotten interior'. Chris and I started giving it the once over and were passing comments like "Seen far worse", "Really not bad at all", and so on. The owner returned at which point we were just reaching for our wallets when he said that it was another car and not this one that was the subject of the notice - D'oh! Not sure if these flags were ours or from the group behind, anyway they really added to the area. The flag of Cornwall can just be seen. Black and White. Some of the Masterclass group This one lingered for a while on Crabmart but has a new owner now. It didn't stay too long at the show though. My attempt at a long shot from the hill opposite Morris 2200 and Car of the show for me. It was the only Austin or Morris 2200. Such rarity and in such great condition what could you possibly add to that? answer: RostylesA truly great effort by Clive, Michael and all the others who I won't be aware of. If you are looking in on this site - I'm much obliged to you - Thank You Nick

Cheers lads for the photos (and lol Chris, you cheeky bugger!)
Those wedges look very fine, as does the 6/99
Nice to see the crabs being well looked after, there'd only be half a dozen at the most that'd look that good here in NZ (and no, mine is not one of them lol)

Thanks for the excellent photos they makes me even sadder that I was unable to return for the event. Did anyone spot either of my two former cars that are still around DFD702K Wolseley 18/85 Mk11 dark green or YPD710G Morris 1800 Mk11 Snowberry White. I can't see them in any of the photos.

Hi David,
They won't have been there. I did get a picture of every car except Chris Linford's two tone Dutch 18/85. Don't know how I missed it really! Both your old cars are currently taxed and tested, so who knows.
Chris.
