And today - it ended. Quite an adventure, taken in the round. I will finish with an IMI Level 2 qualification in bodywork as the "formal" bit and a certificate from Leeds City College stating that I have completed (satisfactorally, I hope!) their vehicle restoration course. I'd like to think that this can be the basis of a new way forward.
Part of the reason for starting the course was to prove something to myself; that I could still do formal learning, even at my age. It turned into quite a voyage of discovery when the health issues kicked off on top, but I'm through it and getting a bit fitter everyday.
Immediate plan is to do a few (2/3) appliance repairs in the morning and try and crack on with the Austin in the afternoons until she's done. This should keep some money coming in and let me build up "gently" on the car side of things. Ultimately, I'd like to finish the appliance repairs.
Looking forward to the future again now.
Chris.

Let me be the first, as I am awake while others back home sleep, to congratulate you on achieving your goal in extremely difficult and unexpected circumstances. Well done and I hope your future plans come to fruition! David And today - it ended. Quite an adventure, taken in the round. Heh - it hadn't quite ended. There were the 24 on-line assessments to be done if I wanted to collect my certificates. Today I finished the last two and I'm a free man for the moment. For the moment? I'm seriously considering going back for the next stage, starting in September..... Hopefully without any unexpected interruptions or mishaps this time. Better get on with the Austin, then. Chris.

It sounds as though studying is as addictive as Landcrabs so you have a few weeks to get the car finished David Heh - it hadn't quite ended.
