Not really - the dealer I part exchanged it with will have moved it straight on to another by the look of it. It's an interesting lesson in car values! Let's hope it goes to a good home. Cheers Andrew

Cheers, Andrew. Thought it seemed rather under-valued.
In other news, is any one interested in a low mileage, one owner Six? Laid up for 20 years. Lurking in Wales.
PM me for details.
C.

I wonder how the present turmoil will impact classic car values?

Spent twenty grand plus on mine (all receipts) so no surprise. Agreed insurance value of 12k. expensive for a drive round the block once a week at the moment! Tony S

It does look really good though! I'd get the agreed value up to £20k then just in case.....

Re Dave's comment - I reckon there might be a bounce in prices as those that still have some money at the end of this may get that carpe diem feeling. Long term outlook I'd say not so great for normal classic cars which many see as polluting anachronisms - rather than bits of mobile heritage to be preserved. I predict half decent fuel will become more difficult to obtain and probably more govt. edicts that will make our cars more difficult to maintain, keep on the road or drive in cities/towns/built up areas. Plus the skills to keep them in top form are not so readily available at garages anymore. So - unfortunately - I reckon we've got 15 years ish before running a classic car becomes more trouble than it's worth, with the corresponding decrease in values...hope I'm wrong. But then again 15 years is quite a long time. Cheers Andrew

Going to have a look tomorrow all being well. Seeing if things look promising. Will then update with my findings and most likely be looking for advice.

I have a pageful of notes and many pictures to do my full report but briefly I feel there is too much for me to take on with my (very) limited skiils.
Both rear wheelarches are full of filler and there are some rust holes around. Not a huge number but a few. The original colour was Battlehip Grey and the respray in blue was not well done and is flaking off in places, the bootlid probably needs replacing and although the outer sills seem pretty good I am worried about the condition of the inner sills.
The front crossmember may be all right and with just surface rust but the drivers side floorpan is heavily rusted.
I was parked up about four years ago but the condition of the engine bay also concerned me, plenty more corrosion there and the air filter seems to have disintegrated.
The interior looked to be the only area I would be able to tackle myself and the seats are reasonable although the drivers one seem to have a repair. The wood needs serious attention though but may well be saveable.
It is a more of a project than I could take on which is a pity because it is definitely the basis of a great cars for someone with the skills.

I would be interested if anyone knows about this one
As the MOT history does not inspire confidence and implies a worse condition that the one I saw on Sunday
