Hello Fans! well maybe not fans but you might like to see landcrabs going over a hundred.... Maxine is in the shop for another race after missing last year. This years improvements are a rear sway bar, lowered fuel tank and adjustable rear shocks. All in process now. will post pictures next time. Those rear swingarms are heavy! Only busted one bolt getting the hydro covers off. Will drill it out. On the list are new bump stops. If our rocket engineer team member did his calculations right we should be lifting the inside rear wheel in the corners. Hope to get a photo of that! Aaron

Hello Fans, Again we Won!!! The judges even gave us a 35 lap penalty because we won in 2015. Our rocket engineer (yes he really is) speced the diameter and length of our rear antisway bar combined with the rear shocks and a lowered fuel tank. The Austin 1800 known as Maxine was a superstar! It was stable and powerful and is getting to be a real racecar. Our times dropped 5 seconds per lap since the last race in 2015. I was taking corners harder than ever before and She just dug in and seemed to like it. Here she is. Thanks everyone i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p694/Hydrolastic/Lemons20Landcrab202017_zps7oxpumk8.jpg

Wow, you had a 35 lap penalty and still won, amazing! Unfortunately we can't see your photos as Photobucket has cut us all off unless you pay a ridiculous ransom. Flickr is still an option for free file sharing.
regards

Hello Guys, Video of our wacky racing here at silversleeves racing.(begining) Our theme this year was "Mr pickles used cars" We were given a 35 lap penalty. Our landcrab ran better than ever with no breakdowns. The 1100 suffered a fuel pump problem we fixed it in twenty minutes. its at 10:50. The hornet was its usual twincam self and except for hitting the wall and being out for an alternator wire issue... it still was 5th . We pride ourselves with running British cars reliably. Everytime we passed a mustang or camaro (and corvette) it seemed the drivers would do a double take. Priceless. Not the 1100 but the Hornet and landcrab can do it pretty effortlessly. Here it is.

Had a look at some of the Utube stuff from "The Ridge" circuit and the LeMons. Nice play on words! Actually David there is now a 24hr Lemons race in Australia just like the US race. Maybe it will spread to the UK soon! I didn't realise they did it here until I happend to find it on Utube looking for the US race!
Cool I am already thinking about my own Maxine!!!
Keep going we love it. I would love to see some GoPro footage from your car!!

Hello and Merry Chistmas. I have a few days off, So spending time on Maxine. Time for a new engine! The old engine was still strong but was showing signs of wear I wanted to replace it while it was still in good enough shape to be the spare . Decided to upgrade and will be putting in the strongest version of this engine for a 40 hp increase. KLZE with a megasquirt standalone. Next race Laguna Seca 1/13-1/14 2018 Attachments:

Hi Aaron That's very impressive. But how many laps penalty do you think you'll get when you win next time. David

Hello guy,s One thing that has really impressed me is how well the rear wheel bearings have held up. With the 225 45 16 sticky tires and spaced out alloys, and high speed corners. I know i just jinxed it. But since the 1800 was never sold in the states there are no spare bearings here. I do know that there were interchangable parts. What other cars were the rear bearings used on? I have access to autosport here in Seattle and they have a surprising amount of NOS items. I think i need the part numbers for the inner and outer bearing they may be able to cross refence the numbers to a TR6 or equivelent car sold here. or maybe you guys know what other cars the rear bearings were used on? BTW i do have a spare used set i plan on bringing with me to the next race. But i would like to try and get a new set. Aaron
