Hi Ken,
looks like you'll have to get the welder out on this one.... Inner wing structure does not look too bad compared to the front panel.
Regards from a fellow 3litre owner,
Alexander

Hi Alexander. look very nice. i dont think i will come that far i would rather use the v8 auto sat in my garage and sell the engine and box out of mine!! yes i have sold things im not in need of from my car on the ebay site. Keef kindly listed one of my picks and told me how to upload and share them but did'nt say where i had to send them to,or how! im sure someone will rescue me from the black hole. yours, Ken.

Hi Kenlowe,
The easiest way to do the pics is to upload them to a photosharing site. I use Photobucket, Keef uses Flickr - they both work basically the same way. They're menu driven to get the photos up, then just click or copy and paste the links to post on the forum.
I will find myself a three litre for myself at some point - the ultimate 'Crab.
I'm afraid I really don't like the wheels; they don't suit the car at all.
Regards, Chris.

Hi Chris. thanks for the info. they are on photobucket but i dont know how to get each one on to this page so you can see them as Keef has done for me. as for the wheels im sure some chaps wont like them but some will. this car was ready to go to be scrapped as there was little left so as i have said im going to do a broadspeed take on it as a track car but still for the road. i have a few projects on the go so this is just a little side restoration. i am doing a corniche as my main project [ if you have any bits i would be interested ] so not spending loads of time on the 3 litre and im doing it outside to prove a point. just a stripped down car with two seats. the wheels are worth more than the car at the moment, they are b.m.w shnitzer 20" . i bet you will like it even less with a big v8 in it? at least it keeps it on the road.Ken.

No, no - my plans involve the recreation of the Wolseley prototype, which has the lovely Rover 3.5 V8 in it. One day.............. P45. Oh - Photobucket - hover over the pic you want to put up, and a list of options should appear. Click on "IMG", it should then show "copied" and you can then click paste on the forum and the pic should come up.

Hi, just logged in and read all the comments on my posting about altering from original. do you want a lift with that stick you have stuck in your mud. its that sort of apathy that cost the British motor industry which we where once the pinnacle of the world industry!!. you have said that you don't like modifications!!!!!! what do you do when all the original old stock parts run dry [ will you send your car to the scrap yard as it wont be original with motor factor parts on ] or will you turn a blind eye to this??. what if it gets scratched or worse bumped would you be happy to have two pack paint on!! or are you happy to bend the rules as you find fit to fall in line with what you think is right?? there was a comment about doing a copy of a pre production wolseley 3 litre, this was never a production car so how can you contemplate doing this sacrilege to a standard 3 litre !!!you may burn at the stake for that. another member said that people building specials should build a complete car!! did panther do this!![ who used the 1800 center section ] who as you know where a specialist top end car builders.
the badge built wolseley's riley's and vanden plas are just modified standard production cars because the coach builders we USED to have in this country [ ultimate men] where bled dry by conservative people not wanting to spend on alterations so they ended there day's bolting fancy bits of trim on [ big shame that ]. and then what about "Henry" and "Charles" [ rolls Royce ] who took what was on the market and made them better!! from this they made there own[ best cars in the world]. this company as well was, at best let down by England and sold. so all in all you may well think you are something of an exclusive club and your ideals and morals are as it should be but unless you wish to fall by the wayside and the marque with you, you need to embrace the future and whatever people want to do with there vehicles. how many standard cars of each variation do you need to preserve the marque. all in all a poor outlook from the members who have cared to comment on this thread, and all the others who don't want to say anything in fear they may upset the elders. i am a classic car enthusiast with about 450 cars under my belt from memory i have had about 40 1100/1300 and badge engineered derivatives 4 1800/2200 and wolseley's and now a 3 litre. so i think that I'm happy enough in my classic car world to challenge your ideals as they may not be everybody's and you may be inadvertently stifling somebody creativity and thats not good in my eyes. i can see that most of it is from you probably not being able to do it but please don't impose your views through way of slight comment and messages on people who want to at least try something out!! it may work and solve a problem who knows. thanks, KEN.

Hey Ken, It's your car mate, do as you want with it and damn anyone who says otherwise I agree about mods being made if/when parts run out. What choice do we have? Edit: As Dave says, everyone is entitled to their view. Not worth losing sleep over it if someone doesn't agree with you. I'd never get any sleep otherwise lol. -Andrew

Hi Ken
I am sorry if you feel that people expressing their views on this friendly forum is in any way trying to impose them on others and hence you believe could stifle initiative. I believe people are just saying what they feel which is their right. I don't think that those who have not commented should feel intimidated in any way if they disagree with the "elders" and I would be upset if I thought they did.
It should of little surprise to you that most of contributors to this forum appear to be motivated to preserve the cars as close to their original state as possible. As time goes by this will undoubtedly become increasingly difficult, although the LOCI (and I think LOCA) have have some success in remanufacturing items such as windscreens by banding together in sufficient numbers. This can only continue at an economic level if there is a large enough pool of cars to warrant the investment.
I know on the one hand that I admire the engineering skills put into some of the conversions, but I feel that the numbers of Landcrabs and 3 Litres has fallen to such low numbers worldwide that there seems to me to be some social responsibility attached to owning one. Of course there can be wide debates about what is original and I am sure we will all have differing views about such things as paint types that you quoted but be united about major changes such as engines as constituting a major departure.
At the end of the day what you do with your cars is your decision and not for us to criticise, so please do not take offence if others simply say it is not for them. Good luck with your projects, I am sure we are all interested in what you can achieve and, as you say we may learn from them.
Regards
David
