I have a '72 Morris 1800 in reasonable nick. Though needs a new wing due to rust and some work around the wiper wheels and hole in the sill. Currently off the road but hope to have it back on by spring. only 37K miles on the clock. Looking for a good mechanic in the east lancs to help sort it out. My son absolutely loves riding around in it and I'm hopeing to make it my daily driver. When I get the cash to fix it up. Attachments:

Welcome to the forum Salik, I enjoy reading your posts on the Landcrab Facebook page. It would be great to see some more pictures in the Your Cars section I'll see what I can find in the way of recommendations for mechanics.

Thanks, guys. I'm sure when I get the cash I'll have a load of recommendations. In desperation I'm sure I can ring Tony Wood of LOCI and he'll recommend someone. Have I mentioned his two massive garages of parts! Now if we could just convince him to login here....and facebook.
Richard, I'll see what I can do about pics. Where did I put that memory card...hmmmm

Now if we could just convince him to login here....and facebook. Message I got when I queried him not being on the Interweb was that he wasn't and was proud of it!

Apparently Tony now has an email address - I imagine it will appear in the forthcoming LOCI newsletter.

Apparently Tony now has an email address I think he's had one at work for sometime. Maybe he just couldn't face more PCs when he got home? I thought his email addy was in the last mag. or maybe on the website? Just checked and it's not on the website. Maybe I was imagining it? Found it and sent him an invite.

When I met him and asked - he basically said not to ask him again. He definitly isn't interested in being flooded with e-mail requests I guess. I even suggested the old "you can turn it off you know" - but that got his dander up even more! lol

When I met him and asked - he basically said not to ask him again. Most of LOCI seem to be very narrow minded when it comes to the Internet. Very short-sighted in my opinion, as it has got to be the number one medium for promotion and contact with the Membership. Their loss is our gain though.

The LOCI age demographic is probably the main reason for the lack of technology. The 50 - 65 age group are known to be the bunch who haven't really embraced the rise of the computers.
At 51, I'm a younger member (There are a number of younger members still), so it is understandable.

Plenty of Clubs have Members in the above age group, but they manage to communicate to their Membership. I don't own a mobile phone, which a lot find baffling, but still manage to text (via the computer). That way I don't bury my head in the sand and say "I don't do mobiles", for example. Facebook and Twitter seemed pretty pointless to me, but I have a presence, because I accept the younger generation use these to communicate.

Obviously expertise is welcome so its a bit of a loss for everyone really. Anyway looks like I might have a line on a welder. Though I'm not sure if he's ever seen anything older than a 02 Merc! lol

its a bit of a loss for everyone really. Quite. I did ask for this to be brought up at the next committee meeting, but my request was ignored.
