Thanks Nick. I've had a good look at the chassis now and there is no sign of damage as far as I can tell, and the tie bars fit well. I've had them off and they fitted without a problem.There's no sign of uneven tyre wear and she steers as straight as a poker. And it's much lighter now I've increased the tyre pressures. However, pulling back the wiring behind the front panel, I saw some shoddy work where the front panel is spot welded to the inner left wing. The old spot welds had been drilled out and just left open, however the two panels are securely joined. I need to remove the grill to see any more, if only I could work out where the lower fixings are. Looks more like careless work than chassis damage. Jeff.

Good point Mr Bandit. One does look off centre in the offending direction. They are very strong but I might be able to persuade them a little.

IIRC, the mounting plates for the hinges are slotted to allow lateral movement. Access is an issue...
