Howdy, new member from Southern Ontario Canada (close to Niagara Falls) Just bought a 1968 MKI 1800 Crabby......Original (very faded) Blue......... Virtually rust free, last drove in 2017......20 minutes after the flatbed left, it was running, started fine on the 3-4 year old gas, doesn't smoke..... Most of the time was spent getting a normal size battery into it (had to remove the motor mount shock), and, getting decent ground sorted......It's still Positive Earth....... That's about all the good stuff... Now onto the bad stuff, well, there's only one bad stuff (so far)......It fails to proceed.......clutchwise, which I knew when I bought it...... So, on to the Technical Page..... BWA1968-Blue-1800-Landcrab-01BWA1968-Blue-1800-Landcrab-03BWA1968-Blue-1800-Landcrab-02

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your aquisition. Once you get the drive problems sorted, you'll love it!
Be very wary about removing the engine damper. The rubber mount inside the cross piece is a known weak spot if it's not uprated. There is a "dumb bell" reinforcing bar which can be added and allows the damper to be removed safely.
An 053 battery (Nissan Micra) will fit comfortably and has enough umpy to start the car.
Enjoy!
Chris.

Thanks for the welcome and the dumb bell advise.....Wasn't planing on going anywhere like that, just wanted to see if I could get it to fire up.
This car is amazingly original, wiring is untouched, still Positive earth, everything in the engine compartment is pretty much un molested, as it came from of the factory.....
