Hope they do well - went to an auction just before lockdown and prices seemed to be on the high side, so good luck!

Bullyboy's "S" went for £9275 inc premium, a little over the top estimate. The Mk1 car was not auctioned.

Well someone's got a great car for a lot less than it cost to do. So taking this sale and mine into account it does seem the market values good ones at around £7/8/9 K mark. My 1800 was traded straight onto dealer on Oxford who had it up at £9995 for a couple of weeks and has now sold - at what price I know not. Bristol hasn't arrived yet - awaiting ball joints - which like the 1800 are almost unobtainable - so have to be rebuilt - nothing changes!!

Yep, seem to be going for half the money i spent on mine. Family heirloom as we have owned from late 70s. The other ten grand must be the price of happy times!! tony S

But then I always compare it to my wife's new Golf (although she is tired of the mantra)...cost £24 k, worth £9k as a trade in, in 4 years time, VW servicing £500 X 4 = £17k down the tubes or £4250 per annum My 1800, had 8 years (approx) - all in £25k, still given £11k as a trade in, and had some amazing adventures and crossed off a lot of bucket list items cost £1750 per annum or 3 packets of fags per week - it's almost free motoring! Cheers A

Absolutely. It keeps me off the streets, out of the pub and bookies unlike a lot of retired locals so it probably saves me money.
