For those of you that find it hard to identify much under the bonnet (me included) of a modern car, here is an excellent video showing the mechanical and electronic components from front to back. I found this fascinating and wonder how owners of future classic cars will cope? Now what was that about the Crab being complex! Mechanical reviewDavid

I think I understood some of that. And that's just a "basic economy car".

I think I understood some of that. And that's just a "basic economy car". Chris. The amount of plastic components that will probably deteriorate and prove a nightmare to dismantle without breaking could mean a future "penguin45" will need to add 3D printers, laser scanners and software to the skills base to keep these car running - assuming there's any interest in doing so. Did you spot the bit about the Toyota's engine mountings being designed to break in a frontal collision to help avoid the engine being forced through the firewall? Just like the 1800 - which could manage it without a collision!

Yes. Doubtless Toyota actually designed that in. Chris.
