Another 3 Litre going under the hammer at the end of November. This looks like a nice low mileage car and is being sold Here with no reserve. Nick

Interesting diversification, have you got a waiting list building up?
I remember seeing old British sports cars when I went to California quite a lot in the 90s. They were things like MGBs and Spitfires and to be honest most of them looked tired. If they weren't rusty then the paint had faded and soft trim and rubber items were often done for.

As an example this ex New Zealnd car is currently available in the UK Here. I might have put it in the Sales thread but the £8250 asking price is much too high at the moment, nice though the car is. Nick

I've been to this since it started and today was the 4th event. I think it may be my favourite show of the year as it is small scale and has an end of the season wind down atmosphere about it. The weather was fine for most of the day with just the odd five minute shower between much longer sunny spells. A few pictures just to give a flavour. "] There weren't that many Landcrabs, less than 10 and they were certainly familiar. Clive got an award for Now 85 which is the last one in this line. "] Until I saw this I had forgotten how much I had once wanted a Magenta Dolomite. The colour was only available on the Sprint and then only for a year or two. When I was a student in Bangor the local Lada dealer had one in part-ex for £450. I should have bought it but instead hung on to my Butterscotch Instant Whip coloured 1850HL. "] Took a fancy to this as well, though I think Chris says they are a pig to work on and can rust in a scary fashion. "] Good showing for Maxis too and some very nice ones were there today. "] The gold coloured Maestro belongs to a young lad who I was asking how it drove with it's curious 3+E VW gearbox with some very tall gearing. It seems you have to rev it quite hard in 2nd and 3rd and then it dies off a bit in fourth. Doesn't do much for the economy that it was designed for. Mind you he says he won't be driving it for quite a while as the insurance is eye watering expensive, his premium is more than I paid for my whole car. The Montego was a nice 2.0D with low mileage which in itself must be a rarity. The owner came down from Newcastle and went away with an award today.
"] This 1.0L Metro is on eBay at the moment with a bid of £600. Very nice condition chocolate interior. The exterior has a few scuffs and the front valence was going on its seams but overall a good buy depending on the final bid.
"] These were new. I don't know if these are the original Milton Keynes concrete cows but I couldn't resist putting my Maestro alongside when there was a chance at the end of the day before we all cleared off home. That's it for outdoor shows for me for this year. MOT next and then the light use and maintenance regime kicks in at the end of next month. Nick

This here Wolseley Six is on eBay for a price of £1150. Needs some work but has an MOT and not too far gone. Quote "Suspension went pssssss when we all went out in it last week cruising so it will need to be trailered away as it now looks a bit drunk and is leaning to one side" Nick

With the reported loss of 25 jobs from this announcement there can't have been much going on that could be called production.

Auctioneer's estimate of £2750-£3250 for this rather nice looking Austin 3 Litre. Don't think so somehow. HereNick

The auto was a Borg Warner adapted for front wheel drive, it was a type 35 I think which was used in many cars and was generally reliable. Not sure what they are like on a 50 year old car though. I believe they have a separate oil supply so not sharing it with the engine which will help. I had a ride in one a few years ago and was impressed with how smooth it was.

Hello Chris, and Croeso.
You're right in as much as there have been quite a few advertised at around £6,000. These cars do tend to stay advertised for a while which to me indicates that either the sellers are holding out for the price or that after a while they do a deal for somewhat less and the car moves on. I sold my 18/85 in the middle of last year via auction, it was in nice condition without being exceptional and the hammer price was £3,250 which I was very happy with. I'll keep an eye out for you for cars coming up for sale. Keep and look out on eBay, Carandclassic.co.uk and occasionally gumtree. I haven't seen one in your price range for a while so when the next one comes up you'll need to act on it quickly. Are you bothered if it is a manual or auto?

Been away for a bit up in Yorkshire with the Maestro and then a wedding back home where the bride requested it to take the groom to the ceremony - all exciting stuff but it meant I haven't been posting on here for a bit. In the meantime there is this Mk1 which looks like it is worth further investigation at £1800. We've seen this one before I'm sure on eBay but not at £6795 HereFinally this one on eBay - looks good too Hereenjoy Nick

This looks a lovely car but something is a bit strange. The Wolseley marque ceased in the UK in 1975 so this 1977 car is a bit of an oddball with its square headlamps. Did Denmark carry on with the name for a while or is this a homemade car based on a Leyland Princess. I do like it but not for €10,800. HereNick

MOWOG Green is the colour of many of the engines. If you look at Paul's 1800 rebuild thread on this forum Here you'll be able to see what a good one looks like. Many MGs seem to be red and quite a few are in black. Not sure what they originally came out of the factory with. Nick
