In my opinion the head gasket was gone due to the fact of the amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. Its just look that the car wasnt maintain properly. I will overhaul all the companants,by the look of them its a must. As to what you suggest that the rings got broken during taking the pistons out its a good possiblety as the carbon ring was very rough and the bore was damaged I still have the pistons but didnt examin the yet(will take photos and post) Regards Al

Been away for a while The car is progressing slowly. When i open the engine in two pistons ring were broken and i had to machined it along with the head (took the opportunity to convert to unleaded. Also found that the left fender was replaced and been done awfuly with 2 tonnes of filler around the head lights and bonnet seal,it looks like i will have to take it to a pannel beater as i dont have the knoladge to do it...(photos will follow shortly). Hope you all doing ok Cheers Al

Even if the steering is very light and not as accurate ill still be happy to learn more about it as for me its essential as i have beck and shoulder injuries. Is the steering colum needs to be change as well? As for the pump i can get a universal one and brackets i can probably get from a british wracker somewere.ill be happy if someone can teach me some of this Cheers guys

I have read the article and it doesn't mention what are the materials he was using or I just missed it. I did some research and I think he was using a DEVCON product called Flexane 80 For the primer he used DEVCON FL-10 for metal, and for the rubber FL-20 it looks like a brilliant stuff not just for this but even to do your own mounts and stuff problem is.....EXPENSIVE Hope my 2 cents helped
