Cor! Even I've never been to the actual Emporium. He does a fine job for no reward and is often under-appreciated, so Big Up for Tony Wood. C. Plus one for Tony appreciation The emporium is an experience like non other. I’ve had at least two trips there. First was late one Friday night when a suspension bag blew the night before Tatton Second was for a bag of various bits for the big engine build. On both visits Tony was more than accommodating and fit meeting around my availability. The service and knowledge Tony provides as Mr P says greatly under appreciated by many.

KR Classics (Roger and Kim Chaplin 01622 862149, rrogchaplin[AT]aol[DOT]com) do nice leather covers if you can do a bit of basic sewing. The spline on the column is unique to the 'Crab, so aftermarket wheels are rare. Astrali used to do a centre hub to mount their wheels to. The hubs do pop up from time to time on eBay. Chris. I put a mountly steering wheel on mine mounted to an astral centre. I found that the ergonomics were not quite right so had a local engineer make an extension to the centre to mount the wheel on that brought the location of the wheel back to its original position. Without the spacer that’s about 25mm thick it felt that I had to reach forward all the time

Hi Steve. I've just been rounding up a few pics of that one! It does look very tired and scruffy. In a way it's an honest car - there's no way of hiding that much grot, so is it worth £500 to restore or break? Hi all one door top succesfully re veneered ready for many coats of laqure, I will put up a pic soon. Another question really what do you all clean your vinyl seats etc with? and if you need to replace any vinyl anywhere where do you get it from? is it possible to have it colour matched anywhere? Thankyou Louise When I had some work done on my seats I struggled with a colour match. I ended up finding the closest possible match and re-trimming the top part of the rear seat with it. The material salvaged from that was then used for repairs on the front seats. You have to be in the know and looking to see it

When I did my door trims I’m pretty certain that the top layer was some sort of hard coating that had to be carefully picked off leaving the wood effect finish underneath I had them refinished by a French polishing company

Just a quick note about tow balls that as a classic caravan owner in sure you will be aware of but someone in the future may not be. There are two sizes: the old inch and 7/8ths ball (47.5mm) and the newer 50mm ball. The new 50mm hitch will not fit the old ball correctly or safely I don’t think that the 17/8” has been used since the 70’s but it is possible that a classic ball / bracket sourced from somewhere may be one To confuse things more there is an alco type hitch that needs a longer neck on the tow ball to prevent the hitch hitting the bumper

Looks like it's top left in the piccie. Mine's at the back under the valance, so that's a sucker instead of a pusher. Odd choice of using an "S" cam with a single carburettor. It's currently at £2250 from £0.99 yesterday, so there's some proper interest in it. When I was tweaking my engine the people in the know reckoned that in reality there would not be a huge difference in the power band between the single and twin carbs su set up. It was intimated that the twin carb was more of a BL sales thing.

How did you manage to wire that wrong. It’s even labelled no… so obviously you don’t wire to it 🤣
