This vehicle is back on the market again for Aud $6000, on Friday I went and had a look at it. The new owner said he paid Aud $6400 a month ago, the body is ok needs a good wash and polish, the drivers seat has had a recover, the engine had no oil in it, steering rack needed replacement and both outer CV joints require replacement. I offered $5000 for it, then changed my mind. still a nice vehicle. I was after a 1800 that required no work that I could hop in and drive. So still looking, I hope to find a MK II automatic utility. Hi all, Been awhile since I’ve posted, there has been a lot of action on the 1800 front recently, several crusty utes and as many reasonable saloons. The ambulance based on a ute is very rusty, no floor in front, no running gear. The fiberglass rear is the best part of vehicle. UK viewers will know the owners previous effort, the leprechaun’s hearse know residing in the UK. I haven’t seen a decent 1800 ute in ages, let alone one for sale. Plenty of rusted out utes bought to restore then sold on as their to far gone. I was thinking of setting up an 1800 ute register, but most of the owners I know have no interest in the internet or social media. Les, good luck finding a decent Mk2 Auto ute, only 120 made, mine was originally an auto but had a manual conversion done in early 90’s, thankfully.. Regards Simmo.
