Danish Morris 2200. evidence here that the European 2200s got the Wolseley dash instead of the faux formica effort in the UK. HereNick

Looks pretty good! There's enough crazing on the dash to suggest a proper veneer finish. Just over £3,000, which seems cheap for a dealer sale. I do wish people would take seat covers off though. What lies beneath?

Agree about the seat covers, I got stung with mine as I was young/foolish and didnt check.

Oh, a lhd 2200! I want it! Wonder how easy it would be to import and get on the road, as they were never sold here. Looks good, but ad says needs restoration.. Not sure what's meant by that. More like a major service perhaps.

It is a very rare car, Tommy. There are something like 4 left running in the UK! Engine runs like a turbine, but it's a bit greedy on fuel.

Indeed, the 2200 was never sold in Germany (no Mk3 anyway), so when my father was out to look for a new car 1973 he brought home a 2200 brochure from the Netherlands - it seems the only 'crab on sale in the Netherlands at the time was the Austin 2200, but featuring rostyle wheels and the wolseley dash as standard. That car above has the same exterior colour as the one in the brochure (which I still have, as has my father the 1800 S bought used instead of importing a car not sold in Germany).

Alexander

£540 is pretty cheap.
Ad says:
"Have a BMC Austin 1800 1966 for sale good fixer fared well from rust in the bodywork. Brake servo disassembled so the brakes do not work. The car run for about 4 years ago."
I suspect it's been there longer than that with the way it's sunk into the ground - severe danger of the bottom being gone.
Chris.

One in the Irish Republic. Unusual colour and looks like a Mk1 with its original and now rare interior - nice. Nick Donedeal Here

Mrs RS is downstairs watching some incomprehensible film so I am working overtime looking for cars; great fun. How to make an 1800 instantly more glamorous - give it a set of Italian Milano number plates. Subito Herecan't pull the picture in, sorry Nick
