Grabbed an hour this morning before it started raining again and did the rocker cover gasket, lost one of the bolts somewhere down by the alternator, lubed the speedo cable, cleaned the charging light contacts and changed the bulb.
Checked voltage across the battery and got 12.6v off and 14v running. Alternator still whines a bit but the charging light goes out nice and easy now. Most if the oil has now burnt off the exhaust manifold.
I noticed I have pretty bad tyre wear on the outside of the front NS. Indicative of a bad bush? I'm not aware of any way to do camber adjustment.

Good news about the electrics.
There is no camber adjustment per se. All you can do is check the condition of upper and lower pivot bushes, ball joints and tie bar bushes. Especially tie bar bushes. Track rods can be adjusted. Ride height affects camber and tracking. In theory, you could shim the big alloy suspension housing, but how you would work out measurements is beyond me!

On the Minors it was found by trial and error that +x shim = -y camber, I suppose I could do the same if it's not a bush or other geometry issue.
Meanwhile 10m of sound deadening felt turned up in the post the other day - I will finally move beyond the bare carpet!

Assuming the ride height at the front is correct and nothing is bent then the most likely culprits are the lower arm bush and the metalastik bearing in the upper control arm. The metalastik bearing failure on the rear suspension is not uncommon and can result in the tyre rubbing against the inner wheel arch. This can be "cured" on a temporary basis by shimming the hydrolastic displacer carrier and you could in theory do the same at the front to realign the suspension but better to address the root cause. I assume you have checked the tie bar bushes and lock nuts as if these are worn or loose they will place undue load on the lower arm bush as well as posing a real danger as set out in the technical section. All good advice and I'll be checking before I drive anywhere.
Last night was spent chasing my car cover down the road - quite a storm!

I think the tyre wear happened on the Minor before I nicked the them off it (it still has no engine) - the Crab suspension looks fine to me and the camber is not extreme.
Meanwhile/this week I got the Nissan Pao through its MOT but managed to get a bit of metal stuck in my eye while grinding rust off it. Two trips to the Minor Injuries Unit later and I have been repaired but I certainly regret wearing safety glasses instead of safety goggles. I'll likely try selling it now as I plan on taking on a narrowboat project - this of course may also lead to the crab going eventually but I want to have a little more fun with it first.

I feel your pain. I've been there and done that. There is no perfect solution - in my case the shard went off my forehead, bounced into the safety specs, came off the inside of them and landed in my eye. You can't win.
Be careful, everyone.

Crab passed to a new custodian yesterday - hopefully I've done my bit undoing enough bodges, caring for the engine and and welding what needed it to keep KOR going for many years to come. As it's barely gone 50 miles away I'll likely see it at some shows so I can check up on it!
Many many thanks to you all, especially Chris/Penguin45 and Dave/dave1800, half the jobs would have been twice as difficult without your advice!
