This Christmas I am setting myself the task of making my own set of extractors for the car. The main reason for this is that the people I have asked to make a set for me all want $850 or (much) more to do it.... so I figure why not give it a go myself.... I have found a guy who will cut me a blank plate to suit, I just need to take the head to him so he can measure... please note that these will be used on a future car that I don't technically have yet
Looking into this I have found myself in two trains of thought, the first is that I should just build them to fit and be happy... the second train of thought started when I read about pressure waves... which lead me to posting the following questions...
1. How does one "Tune" a set of extractors? is there a formula or a calculator that i can use to measure optimum tube length?
2. Will fitting a catalytic converter negate any benefit gained by spending many sleepless nights thinking about pressure waves?
